What happened?

About two weeks ago, I went on a coffee date with a guy. We went on another date and he told me that he liked me and that we should spend more time together. I liked him too, and we did. I had a great time with him, we kissed, we got to talk with each other and we got to know each other more. I genuinely liked him and I was happy. Today we had lunch together and I had a nice time. Then he decided to bring the topic of what kind of relationship we had. I thought he was going to sort of make it official, but he didn't. Instead he said, he thought I was cute and that he really liked me, but he didn't see a connection. He said he wanted to get to know me more. I thought we were doing okay. I feel like I still have a chance with him, but I just don't know. Did he friend zone me or do I still possibly have a chance with him?
