Wind Energy

Why can't the US government issue more money to build wind turbines on the coast to store and power cities? Do some of the government officials feel that wind turbines are an eye sore for tourists? I realize we are in a tight squeeze with money because we owe China an insane amount of money; wouldn't it be possible to build a few of them at a time? It kind of sickens me that Mitt Romney was given stupid amounts of money from the people to make him president, but people won't put their money towards something that will help their children's children. Or even help the financial situation we are in by saving more money to use clean energy, rather than using fossil fuels that are being priced that is obviously keeping the US in debt.
