Is That What You Call Helping Me? Are You Freaking Serious?

Today is one of the worst days ever. In addition to jobs rejecting me every other day by email, as if that isn't bad enough, the very people whose business it is to help people find jobs are the worst employees on the planet. To be quite frank they should've been the first ones out of a job because unemployed people (like me) are doing more work to find work than the people I witnessed at Work Force One....AND THAT'S WHAT THEY GET PAID TO DO.............. supposedly. Allow me to me to explain. Yesterday I was on employflorida.com. I saw a few jobs that I qualified for. I applied for the ones that I could apply for, however there were a few that said I had to go through Work Force One in order to apply. I called WFO and spoke to the person that answered. I asked her to route me to whomever handles my situation. She said chances are they won't answer, but she'll transfer me anyway. I asked if I can make an appointment and she said the easiest thing would be for me to come in (which is what I ended up doing anyway). So this morning I woke up at the butt-crack of dawn because I am so determined to get a job. My brother dropped me at a bus stop on his way to work (my car situation is a story onto itself). I caught the bus to WFO. When I arrived I consulted with the gentleman at the front desk and he directed me to a waiting area and told me to put my name on the list. I was probably the 7th walk-in. There were other lists also for appointments (SMFH). While waiting I overheard different conversations. What caught my ear is that at least 2 people were there days prior and had to leave because of other matters. One gentleman said he was there on Monday from 8am to 2pm....waiting, and when he left there were 8 people ahead of him. While there I was observing the workers who were in their offices and cubicles basically not doing anything. One man who I'd say did the most (which was still not that much) checked his list and tended to his appointments and a walk-in as well, BUT The dude took lunch/break at 10:15..AM, (as if he had worked up an appetite or something at 10 in the morning, he only worked like an hour!). Another lady would come and check her list which was basically empty and not even tend to walk-ins. She would check her list like every 5 minutes. In my opinion she had nothing to do, she wanted to look busy, and she wanted not to attend to walk-ins. She was not the only one either. There were at least 2 others like this. I waited patiently for maybe 2 hours. Finally my name was called.... I went with the lady to her cubical. I began to tell her my situation. She seem cool at first, but her demeanor was off, almost snobbish. She was quizzing me (which I expected), but she was also belittling me and my resume (which I thought was out of line). I asked her about the positions and she seemed to be dancing around my questions. She started to tell me how my resume was inadequate. At this point I was already dissatisfied with her cynical behavior. I asked her what was wrong with my resume so I can fix it because she was being vague and I can't fix anything if she didn't elaborate. She said that she's not going to do the work for me. I told her that I don't want for her to do that, however it's her job to steer me in the right direction. So after some back and forth she told me that what's wrong with my resume is grammatical, capital letters, complete sentences etc. I almost had a stroke right there. The English language is one of my strong suits. I still know all of the rules to writing and I know how to spell. I had the resume right there between us on the desk. I asked her what she was talking about (because I knew she pulled an excuse out of the air). I called her bluff. I told her that my only complete sentence was the Objective Statement because it had to be. Everything else were bullet points and lists. She said I needed to go to their Resource Center to get help because my resume needs more. By this time I was thinking, what does my resume need more or does it need correcting? She told me straight up if I don't fix it she "WILL NOT" recommend me for the job (and yes her voice did fluctuate on the "WILL NOT"). I didn't like her bourgeois attitude at all. Was it necessary for me to have gone through that? Why dance around my concerns? Why is it so offensive for me to ask you elaborate on what I did wrong? I don't hold WFO in high esteem at all and to be brutally honest if I was not raised to respect my elders I would have spit in my hand and slapped her disrespectfulness right in her mouth. What ever happened to customer service and being cordial? Does that go out the window because I humbly come to you for your assistance? GTFOH!
